A New Beginning

I have been asked by John Tarrant Roshi, to revive the Zen Buddhist Lineage known as FUKE.
The new vision of FUKE is an alliance of practicing Buddhist artists including, visual artists, performance  artists, musicians, calligraphers and writers. I encourage you to participate by asking questions and submitting your comments.
Brian Howlett, Sensei, Director of the Fuke Alliance, Art Director Pacific Zen Institute

Tell me about the lineage part of this alliance. Who do you "claim" as ancestors? Any notions of transmission within the lineage?

Any difference between practicing in the lineage, and being a teacher of it?

Yee-haw! Let the Wild Rumpus start!

Hey Ellen thanks for posting.

"Lineage” as every scholar knows is a creative process, part fact part fiction. FUKE is no different.

Sure... practice is practice, teaching is teaching. Everyone practices including teachers. Teachers are made by a community and recognized by the holding teacher in the community. I am holding FUKE

The "wild rumpus" has begun.
Amos Clifford has been working on the project with me and has been a terrific help. Chris Lods too has been practicing zen with me and is a musician and artist.
 Tell us about you.

Thanks, Brian
