A Book Worth Reading

If you are interested in how Buddhist thought and practice has influenced the arts of Europe and the United States then you should start with Jacquelynn Bass book.
Her book begins with Claude Monet and ends with Richard Tuttle. In between you'll read about artists like Kandinsky, Duchamp, Noguchi, Yves Klein, Yoko Ono and Agnes Martin.

Dharma Art

Several people have asked me what book to read regarding dharma art.
Trungpa's book is the best that I've read to date. Having said that I have to add that it is flawed in my opinion based on our current understanding of neuroscience and the human psyche. Yet Trumpa is very clear about the source of art and it's relationship to meditation.
I would love to have a conversation with you after you've read the book.
